“I went out at the end of Q2 to get a feel and I lost the same power as I lost in China,” he tells Sky F1. “There’s nothing I can do. I never give up.”.
Engine unit parts will be from his allocation of five for the season, he will not be penalized for using new engine unit parts. But, other elements may be needed to solve the issue which would offer a grid penalty.
“I hope not,” Mercedes boss Toto Wolff told Sky Sports F1 when asked if Hamilton could suffer grid drop.
“But we need to discuss with the FIA what we want to do and then hopefully make it without a penalty.”
