Ferrari speedy Sebastian Vettel led the way in a wet third and final practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon ahead of qualifying.
Heavy overnight rain continued in the hours leading up to practice, leaving the track wet for the beginning of the hour-long session, with no actions taking place in the first 15 minutes as teams waited for better condition.
Williams’ duo Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa the first drivers’ to brave the track on wets and Red Bull drivers the first wear on intermediates later in the session.
Bottas set second fastest ahead of Force India’s Sergio Perez, while Toro Rosso ace Carlos Sainz was a further 0.1s back in fourth.
Esteban Gutierrez made fifth fastest ahead of Renault drivers Jolyon Palmer and Kevin Magnussen, while Pascal Wehrlein ran strongly for Manor to finish eighth. Max Verstappen and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top 10.
McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes drivers not registering timed lap, and also world champion Lewis Hamilton made just one installation lap.
