Most of F1 drivers tweeting that picture of them are having dinner together. Trying to prove a point to Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA? #RacingUnited.

Using the hashtag #RacingUnited – or, as noted by Championship leader Nico Rosberg: “in Bernie’s words: #windbagsunited” – most of them took their own Twitter account to post an image of the 18 F1 drivers dinner-selfie.

Signed by the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA), it emerged in Bahrain recently that a letter critical of the management and governance of Formula one was actually supported by the entire grid of active race drivers.

Formula 1 boss, Bernie Ecclestone responded to that letter was that the drivers were “#windbags.”

18 F1 drivers got together on Wednesday to have dinner ahead of this weekend’s Chinese GP, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso, Nico Hulkenberg, Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen, Daniil Kvyat, Esteban Gutierrez, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericson, Felipe Nasr, Carlos Sainz Jr., Pascal Wehrlein and Renault reserve driver Esteban Ocon.

The missing are Kimi Raikkonen, Romain Grosjean, Renault duo Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer, Rio Haryanto and McLaren third driver Stoffel Vandoorne.
