McLaren set 2016 F1 car MP4-31 launch schedule

McLaren-Honda will launch its 2016 F1 car, the MP4-31, on February 21, the day before the first pre-season test in Barcelona.

The Woking based F1 squad on Monday became the first team to set a concrete launch date.

“Feeling blue? Seeing red?” the British team declared on Twitter. “You can ALL see the MP4-31 launch on Feb 21!”

McLaren expecting the MP4-31 and the 2016 Honda engine provides a major step forward following the team slipped to ninth in the constructors’ championship in 2015. McLaren duo Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso score just 27 points combined, and produced best at Hungarian GP fifth place.
