Nelson Piquet’s son escapes terrible Porsche GT3 Cup crash

17-year-old Pedro Piquet, the son of three-time Formula 1 world champion Nelson Piquet, escaped an astonishing crash during a Porsche GT3 Cup race.

The Brazilian’s car flipped over at least nine times after he was clipped during the race in Brazil.
He was tended to by medics on the track before being taken to a nearby hospital for a check-up.

Piquet suffered minor injuries to a hand along with some bruising, sharing an image from the hospital onto his Instagram account along with the caption ““just a small scare, I am fine up here. Thanks for all the support”.

He is 13th in the Brazilian Porsche GT3 Cup standings, having scored two podium finishes so far.
