Webber: F1 needs to become faster, noisier, more exciting

The Australian Motorsports speedy, Mark Webber says that F1 is not the sport that it once was and that it has “never been weaker”.

Webber, who raced for Minardi, Jaguar, Williams and Red Bull over a 12-year career behind the Formula 1, also suggested that the sport needs to become “more exciting” to foster competitive championships.

“We’ve just got to get the cars more exciting again for the drivers. Webber told BBC Radio 5 live

“The depth has never been weaker, if you go from the top 10 back. This is not good. We need more depth.

“We need the cars to be more exciting, faster, noisier. Just put them on a level where they are not close to other categories. Now they are.”

Mark Webber is now competing with Porsche for FIA World Endurance Championship.

Can anybody possibly disagree with this? The field is weak and the cars are boring. Someday we’ll look at Hamilton’s multiple championships in this farce and say, “Who cares?”

This guy is like an annoying sister-in-law. He’s always running his mouth and never goes away. Nothing like a professional number 2 (his words) critiquing the current F1 drivers.
