Ferrari reserve to get one Haas F1 seat

Speculation continues in subject of driver lineup for the 2016 debuting American outfit. Gene Haas has officially claimed one of the current test drivers at Scuderia Ferrari will be set to take a race seat with Haas F1.

The two current Ferrari reserves are Sauber’s former, Esteban Gutierrez and Jean-Eric Vergne. Sourced rumors suggest Gutierrez is most likely to make the lineup, nonetheless nothing is officially settled as of now.

Ferrari and Haas would have a huge connection, the Maranello squad is set to provide power units to the newly debuting American team as well as providing some parts.

It is clear one reserve Ferrari driver would get a race seat, nonetheless it is also very much possible an American driver is seen on the grid for F1’s one and only American team. Alexander Rossi stands favorite as an American driver with Haas F1.

The team are hopeful to announce the driver lineup within the next few weeks.

“One of the drivers will be a Ferrari reserve driver and we’re still looking for an experienced Formula 1 driver, a current driver. No rookies.”

“Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we’ll have something to say,”

“We would like that both have driven F1 car before.

“One we want with real experience, one who has been through a few years in F1.”
