Palmer ends Barcelona in-season test on top
Lotus speedy, Jolyon Palmer set fastest lap-time in Day 2 of Barcelona in-season testing with a late super-soft attempt.

Mercedes reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein finished with second fastest, who had fastest the times for the most part of the testing, and he racks up a remarkable 137 laps.

The Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly recovered from a walkout in the afternoon session to post the third quickest time in the RB11, a day after making his F1 test debut for Toro Rosso.

McLaren’s Jenson Button set fourth fastest and the Brit racked up 100 laps in his Honda-powered MP4-30 on day spent assessing aerodynamic components.

Williams’ development driver Alex Lynn, successively finished a full test day in FW37 for the first time and he set fifth fastest.

Mercedes-backed French speedy Esteban Ocon managed sixth fastest for Force India, ahead of Ferrari reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez – driving the SF15-T for the first time – and Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz.

Ferrari Academy driver Raffaele Marciello, who drove for the Scuderia on day one, switched to Sauber on Wednesday and endured a shameful start. He ran wide at the high-speed Turn 3 and hit the barriers. He was back on track later in the day and racked up 72 laps.
