Hamilton beats Rooney to top spot in sport rich list



Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton, 30, who is a tax exile based in Monaco, has amassed £20million in the last year, meaning he’s sitting on a £88m fortune, according to the 2015 Sunday Times Sport Rich List.

England and Manchester United forward Rooney has overtaken another F1 driver, Jenson Button, to move behind Hamilton.

Rooney, believed to be earning £300,000 a week at Old Trafford, has wealth estimated at £72m, just a million more than Button.
