Stunning finish from Ricciardo – Renault contribute extra fireworks

Daniel Ricciardo sixth despite engine failure as he takes chequered flag for Bahrain Grand Prix, the Australian’s Renault engine expired in a dramatic plume of smoke as he way out the final turn but had just enough juice to get him over the line.’’

“I drove well but it was a bit of a lonely sixth place. I think the team is getting there we are getting there, making improvements.” Ricciardo said following the race

“The top three teams are out of reach but coming into the European season and I think we will find a bit more. The biggest gaps have been seen and I think they will only get smaller.”

More power unit pain at Red Bull

“We are now on our engine limit. That’s three engines in four races.” Team boss Christian Horner said
