Rosberg: Brake failure cost me the position to Kimi

Rosberg Brake failure cost me the position to Kimi
It was disappointed race for Nico Rosberg, this was the most racy he has been in F1, wheel to wheel racing he was great today.

Kimi, the only lead driver to save a set of faster, softer tires for the final stint of the race, finally he took second place. Ferrari’s perfect tyre strategy give him, passing Rosberg with two laps ahead chequered flag after the German ran wide into the first corner.

What looked like an error under pressure from Rosberg, not his first in recent weeks, later Rosberg speaking to Raikkonen ahead of the podium ceremony: “I lost my brakes”

“Sorry about the brakes, Nico,” Rosberg’s race engineer consoled after the German crossed the line in third position.

“The overtaking was enjoyable, to overtake the red cars I enjoyed that a lot,” says Nico Rosberg.

“In the end I tried to catch Lewis, but we are pretty similar so I couldn’t and he even pulled away a little bit. Then I lost my brakes unfortunately two laps from the end so I went straight on and that cost me the position to Kimi.”

Kimi Raikkonen, on the podium for the first time this season, praised the “positive atmosphere” at Ferrari in 2015.
