First podium for Raikkonen since 2013, “positive atmosphere” at Ferrari

Kimi Raikkonen pleased with second place for Bahrain Grand Prix and it’s his first podium finish since 2013 Korean Grand Prix.

Also, the Iceman believes he got the most out of both the car and the strategy put forward by the Italian outfit, praised the “positive atmosphere” at Ferrari in 2015.

The Finn ran the Soft tyre in the final stint to swiftly close on Medium-fitted Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. Raikkonen capitalised on a late brake trouble from Rosberg to take second.

“You are never happy when you finish second, but after a difficult start to the year I am pleased to get some result,” says Kimi Raikkonen.

“We came through in the end very quickly, but we ran out of laps. We have to be happy after where we qualified, but we are looking for better results.” He added

“I’m very happy with how the team is working. After last year, where we are now, it’s a big step. Everybody is working really well together and the atmosphere is good. I’m sure, as a team, we’ll get there, and be able to fight for wins. But it will take a little bit more time.” (Images © Ferrari)
