Sebastian Vettel – The new hero for the Tifosi?

After a long and a bitter dragging 2014 season, the Italian team is working hard to stay on the pace with its rivals for the upcoming season. A move that cost Ferrari $80 million, Sebastian Vettel might just be the new hope of winning races for Ferrari.

The new SF15-T, has gone through plenty of development and has seen improvement since last year’s car. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari driver, sees an improvement in the car and so does his newly joined teammate.

The four time world champion is optimistic about Ferrari’s 2015 season and feels that the team is right in the mix behind the two Mercedes. Ferrari might just have got a lifeline by hiring the German, to regain their place as one of the top teams in the constructor’s championship.

After the testing in Barcelona, Vettel said, “The last three days were very good, we did a lot of laps, which is good for reliability, but we still have to improve on that side. And performance-wise we know that Mercedes are the ones to beat, and that’s where we want to get, but we have to go step-by-step, and most of all look at ourselves.”

2_140316_new-966x543The former Red Bull driver, who struggled with his car in the entire 2014 season, seems determined to compete at the top and outrun the highly dominating Mercedes car, which might well be again the team to finish at the top in front of the pack.

Sebastian Vettel’s aggression and the hunger for wins, might just be the right motivation for the Itallian team to succeed in the upcoming season. The coming of Vettel to the team, might also ensure a sense of positive rivalry between teammate, Kimi Raikkonen and him, which to the team’s benefit will bring them more points in every race.

Vettel’s thought on the season pretty much says about the domination of Mercedes and a very close competition between Williams, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari for a spot behind the Mercedes. Vettel said,“ It’s clear that Mercedes is in front, after that there seems to be a bit of a gap, then it’s a lot closer with many teams.”

With a greatly improved SF15-T and a fierce, risk taking German driver as a pair up for the 2015 F1 season, Ferrari have a great chance to build up their lost form and their place at the top of the pack. And for the Italians and Ferrari fans all over the world, they have something to cheer about with plenty of action coming their way in just one week’s time. (Shubham Mandlekar)
