Their wax figures could be seen at the Helix Bridge at Marina Bay Sands on Tuesday morning (Sep 16).
With the 2014 Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix roaring into town this weekend, it was perhaps fitting that the first sports celebrity wax figures to arrive in Singapore were those of motor racing stars Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton.
Reigning Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, who has won the Singapore Grand Prix for three years running, will compete against 2009 champion Lewis Hamilton at this year’s night race. Their wax figures were spotted at the Helix Bridge on Tuesday morning.
Last month, wax figures of celebrities Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted at One Fullerton ahead of the opening of Madame Tussauds Singapore on Oct 25. Other celebrities whose waxen doppelgangers will feature at the attraction include Beyoncé, David Beckham, Michelle Yeoh, Jack Neo and Lady Gaga.
Said Ms Lily Lim, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore: “We are thrilled to be bringing wax figures of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel to Madame Tussauds Singapore ahead of the Grand Prix this weekend. Both are legendary race drivers and will be fantastic additions to the attraction when it opens next month.” (Channelnewsasia – CNA/do)
