Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams: “I am so pleased for Felipe to get on the podium after such a run of bad luck. I am also really pleased for Valtteri Bottas, he had a bad start but showed off his driving talents which further vindicates our decision to keep our two drivers for next season.”
“The atmosphere is fantastic,” said Williams’s head of engineering Rob Smedley whose drivers Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas finished third and fourth respectively.
“And we got a really good result. We finished where I expected we should have finished. “We made it hard for ourselves but it’s all good.”
When asked about what Valtteri Bottas’ problem was at the start, Smedley said: “I don’t know to be honest. We need to have a look at it. That put us on the back foot.
“Valtteri did an amazing job, the lad is brilliant. He got the hammer down. The team worked well together and he recovered to fourth.”
