Austrian GP Qualifying: Massa on his first pole since Brazil 2008

Brilliant from Williams as they lock out the front row, Felipe Massa taking his first pole in six years with Valtteri Bottas second. Lewis Hamilton will start from down in ninth after failing to set a lap time.

BBC reports that, It sounds like a little plastic figure of Brazilian footballer Neymar might be staying very close to Felipe Massa in future races.

He adds: “Just before I got into the car, my son gave me a little Neymar, you know, the little figure, so it was a nice feeling. To win the World Cup at home will be like a dream come true.”

Felipe Massa, said during the press meeting: “I am so happy with what has happened today, with us, our team, it was such a great moment. It is a long time since I last had a pole position so for sure we need to concentrate on the race tomorrow. It is a great moment and I am in the best place to be – first place. After a long time, I hope this is just the beginning of great possibilities. I hope to be in this position again.

“Williams are back to the top, they are back to fight. I am pleased for me and the team as well.”
