Daniel Ricciardo set maiden F1 top podium in the dramatic Canadian Grand Prix. The Australian speedy forced to take lead in the final session of the on struggling Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg.
The second Red Bull speedy Sebastian Vettel took third place on the podium following a terrifying final lap crash between Sergio Pérez (Force India) and Felipe Massa (Williams) when the duo fighting for fourth place.
“Amazing,” says Red Bull team boss Christian Horner regarding Daniel Ricciardo’s sensational drive.
“Daniel has been unbelievable all season. Of all races we thought we could win, this would have been the most unlikely.”
“But the way he drove, he thoroughly deserved the drive. He’s proved his worth. He’s exceeded all of his expectations.”
Red Bull design chief Adrian Newey told BBC Sport:- “Ricciardo is an amazing young man, what impresses me most is how calming he is when he comes on the team radio.
“We were a bit lucky today in truth but we were there and ready.”
