Gene Haas rejects Lotus or Caterham F1 team acquire rumours



Gene Haas is preparing to build American based F1 squad for 2015 season and recently dismissing the rumours that he planning to purchase Lotus or Caterham F1 team.

The reports surrounded during Spanish GP, and experts suggesting that Haas would be better off acquire an existing team, more willingly than assembling his own from matchless environment.

“Gene Haas has no plans to visit the Lotus factory, and he remains committed to building an American-based Formula 1 team and his plans have not changed.” the spokesman told Autosport.

Still the US F1 team has also been linked to a purchase of Caterham. The Leafield-based team’s owner Tony Fernandes made clear at the start of the season that he would likely walk away from F1 if the team did not deliver a significant step forward in competitiveness this year.

Also the source understands that discussions have taken place with various parties about a sale, but no deal has yet been completed.
