Nico Rosberg very pleased after his season opening victory at Australian Grand Prix, whose world champion father Keke Rosberg won the inaugural Australian Grand Prix in 1985.
The German made a perfect start from third on the grid, and simply he took lead from early retired pole man Lewis Hamilton, and Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.
Rosberg led whole time in the Sunday race, finally he made top podium 24 seconds ahead of home hero Daniel Ricciardo, who finished first time in second place, debut with Red Bull Racing.
“It has been an amazing time in Melbourne. The support has been fantastic, Daniel got more support than me, but that’s normal. It has been an amazing day. Rosberg told the reporters.
“Everyone has worked so hard over the weather and to have such an amazing Silver Arrow is unbelievable. The reliability was good and it’s the perfect start to the season.”
McLaren on top in constructors’ championship, by the perfect race their rookie Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button, who finished third and fourth respectively. Mercedes s on second in the Constructors’ points table.
