Red Bull Racing early stops the second day of pre-season Formula 1 testing due to battery problem; defending world champion Sebastian Vettel has done only 8 laps.
Opening day of testing Red Bull managed to complete three laps; they have delays caused by an element being fixed wrongly ahead primary running.
Main rival Mercedes has done more than 90 laps, but Red Bull has completed 11 laps across two day test. Sebastian Vettel has cancelled his press event for Wednesday evening and will fly home.
The defending champions decided to abandon its running for the day so Renault could be given more time to look into the problem and sort a solution for Thursday.
Renault’s engine chief Rob White said following the opening day of testing: “I honestly expected there to be more laps on the board right now, but without real up close knowledge of what has been going on in the garage I don’t know what has been happening,”.
“It is kind of a no brainer, but the pace has to ramp up substantially over the coming days and week.” he added.
