Report: 2014 Ferrari in secret test row with V6 engine

Ferrari-Le-Mans-F1-2Many unofficial sources spread out that Ferrari made a secret test for new 2014 V6 turbo unit with a Ferrari supercar at the company’s Fiorano test track.

The governing body not allowed any private test, the footage under debut, the experts believes that its show the supercar running with a small turbocharged engine with similar Formula 1 air-box, also the super-car is usual V12 unit.

Auto Sport und Motor journalist Tobias Gruner has acquired more proof that indeed the LaFerrari was running with the new V6 turbo engine as photos suggest the car had a “camouflaged livery”, a “suspiciously large air intake” and a “giant wing” on the back.

Gruner also reports the car had the black and yellow warning label which hints the car was also running some kind of electrical unit, possible the new ERS system which will accompany the V6 engine.

“Ferrari will not publicly comment on the test,” Gruner said, adding it is feasible the Italian carmaker was in the initial stages of testing for a possible return to Le Mans racing, which has also been mentioned.
