Bahrain GP: Vettel says crucial to get early lead

Sebastian Vettel says that the first stint overtakes was vital for his trouble-free victory for Bahrain Grand Prix. Reigning world champion early attacks Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg and finished 9.1 seconds understandable of Kimi Räikkönen.

The start was little bit troubled for Vettel and he slipped back third place from second, but he overtook the Spaniard at Turn 6 on the opening lap. Following continually he pushed race leader Nico Rosberg and to get him at Turn 4 on lap three.

“It was a fantastic race, a big thank you to the team. It was faultless from start to finish. I knew it was crucial to get into the lead and go from there, looking after the tyres. The car was phenomenal; it just got better and better. It was a beautiful race where you could push every lap.” said Vettel

“It was very tight at the first corner with Fernando on the outside,” explained Vettel.

“Unfortunately I had to give way, but I got him back at Turn 6 and that was crucial. Nico was a tough one and I had to think for quite a while as he was quick down the straights. It wasn’t as straight forward as I had hoped, but we managed to get him at Turn 4. Then the track was clear and we could unleash the true pace of the car.
