Red Bull decided that Mark Webber will start from pitlane for Chinese Grand Prix, also they are changed his RB9’s gearbox with new specification.
Webber excluded from qualifying and race stewards sent him to back of the grid due to the Aussies has run out of fuel during the Q2, also Red Bull failed to give sufficient fuel for the mandatory FIA sample after qualifying.
Red Bull’s pitlane start will give little to gain from taking up his position, team detached his RB9 from parc ferme on Sunday morning to make modifications.
Webber’s RB9 will have its settings changed and be fitted with a new gearbox, which will run with different gear ratios in a bid to give him more straightline speed.
