Grosjean: Lotus’s F1 title challenge depends on the money

Kimi Raikkonen took top podium in the opening race of the season at Melbourne, following they are stated Lotus as a championship competitor this season.

But his team-mate Romain Grosjean now says that they will stay in the title challenge but depends on their financial resources.

Following the opening race victory team then draw back in Malaysian Grand Prix, Grosjean and Raikkonen finish sixth and seventh respectively.

“It depends on the money that we have,” Grosjean is quoted by Autosport.

“That is the key in F1. We know we have good people, we know they are able to do a race winning car, we know that on development and on factory tools we are there, but then again everything is a question of what you can put into it.”

“Hopefully we get more sponsors, so more development and then more wins and then more sponsors. It’s a cycle.”
