Ferrari speedy Felipe Massa believes that he can be a 2013 drivers’ championship contender for this season following making an excellent start to the season. Also Massa successfully finished top five results in Australian Grand Prix and Malaysian Grand Prix.
The Brazilian last took Formula 1 top podium at the 2008 Brazilian GP; he finished second best to title-winner Lewis Hamilton in 2008. He currently lies fifth on the drivers’ championship and four points ahead of team-mate Fernando Alonso.
“I think we need to be confident and I am very confident,” said Massa.
“We need to keep our feet on the ground, but we know that there has been a great deal of work on the car from last year to this year.
“There is a lot to do to make this car better, to make the evolution right on this car and to make this car more competitive. I think if we carry on in this direction the chance of winning races and to fight for the world championship is there.”
