Grosjean fastest on day two in final pre-season test at Barcelona

Lotus’ Romain Grosjean set top fastest lap-time in second day of final pre-season Formula 1 test at Barcelona on Friday.

The second day morning session was mostly wet conditioned, and slowly the track drying, but the final stage completed with rain.

McLaren’s Jenson Button set second fastest, morning session the Brit finished on top with medium compound.

The Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado managed third fastest lap-time ahead of reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel, before the lunch session the German took tenth fastest only.

Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg done fifth fastest ahead of Force India’s Adrian Sutil. Toro Rosso’s Daniel Ricciardo managed seventh fastest.

Marussia’s Max Chilton and Caterham’s Giedo van der Garde set eighth and ninth quickest lap-time respectively. Mercedes Nico Rosberg and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso elected to longer run.
