Fernando Alonso not participate 2013 first winter testing at Jerez in first week February, following the Italian squad decided that they will start primary work with Felipe Massa and newly joined test driver Pedro de la Rosa.
Last week Ferrari’s team Principal Stefano Domenicali confirmed that they will launch its 2013 F1 car on February 1.
2013 first pre-season test scheduled from February 5-7 and it’s held at Jerez, Felipe Massa will drive the new Ferrari for the first three days at Jerez, and de la Rosa getting his maiden run for the Italian outfit on the final day.
The Italian squad said F1 testing veteran de la Rosa’s day in the car will be “very important” as it “will allow both the team and the driver to work specifically on looking at the correlation between the virtual and the real experience”.
Media reports that, Alonso will keep on his pre-season preparation command before returning to the track for the first three days of the second test in Barcelona. And the Brazilian will drive the final day of the second test before the pair split the final test by driving alternate days.
Last week The Italian squad revealed last month it had also began work on new facilities at Maranello, which will house the offices and workshops for the F1 team in the future.
