Fernando Alonso believes that more confident about Ferrari’s 2013 season performance, he expecting Italian squad will be very strong for next season.
The aggressive Spaniard made consistent race finish in last season campaign and Ferrari bounce back into better form, and finally they took second place on the constructors’ championship.
In 2012, Vettel’s only title competitor, double time world champion Fernando Alonso, finished a fine second following a powerful drive for Ferrari, but it was not enough to overhaul a pre-race 13-point shortage as his German rival won the crown by just three points in the final race at Brazil.
Yesterday the Italian F1 squad confirms that they will launch its 2013 F1 car on February 1.
“I am more confident, no doubt,” Ferrari will be strong in 2013. Alonso told Autosport.
“The rules are continuing more or less the same as last year in terms of aerodynamics. In the 2012 winter we changed completely the exhaust position compared to 2011, and it was a little bit of a guess what we found on the car.
“But this year everything should be much more normal and we are much more confident. We can be faster or slower [than the others] but not 1.5 or two seconds off the pace, because it was a record what we had last year. It is maybe impossible to be worse than last year, so I am confident.”
