The Spanish Motor racing driver Marc Gené has extended his test driving role with Scuderia Ferrari for 2013 Formula 1 season. Formerly Gené drove for Minardi and Williams during his time in Formula 1 World championship and he just took five championship points from four F1 season.
In 2004, Gené signed a contract to become a test driver for Scuderia Ferrari alongside former teammate Luca Badoer. The Spaniard renewed his contract for 2007. A limit on testing in Formula 1 in 2007 and 2008 has limited his association.
At the end of 2010, Gené along with Luca Badoer and Giancarlo Fisichella was replaced by Jules Bianchi as Ferrari test driver ahead of the 2011 season.
“It is an honor for me to continue with Ferrari for the ninth consecutive year,” Gené said.
“The goal is to give Fernando Alonso a winning car and also for Ferrari to get the Constructors’ title. I feel very comfortable with the development work that the team is completing.”
