Perez targeting title fight with McLaren in his debut season



New McLaren speedy Sergio Perez says that targeting fight for championship in his first appearance season. Perez is ready to first taste of the 2013 McLaren F1 machine at the first pre-season test in Jerez.

McLaren opt the Mexican Sergio Perez to replace Lewis Hamilton, following the Brit joins Mercedes for upcoming season. Perez successfully completed two seasons with Sauber and also he delivered a fantastic season in 2012.

Today Sergio Perez spent his first official with McLaren at factory visit, and he says that targeting fighting for the title with McLaren.

“Hopefully we can have a very strong car and fight for the championship. That has to be the target, “I don’t feel the pressure but obviously you have to deliver here in McLaren.” Perez said BBC reports.

“You are coming here to deliver results, to win championships. This is the target when you come to McLaren, the best team in F1; you have to really deliver the results. Do my very best, give my very best to McLaren”. Perez promised.

Mexican expecting, he can made an error free season with Jenson Button for 2013 F1. Also he felt similar in terms of emotion likes last two year with Sauber, only one contrast ‘McLaren is a lot bigger’.

“I think we will work very well together for the team but obviously the target is to beat him and all the others. But I think myself with Jenson, we are a very good team.”

“It’s similar in terms of emotion,” said Perez, who is 23 later this month. “It’s something new for you but this is a lot bigger.”
