Newey: No guarantee of success 2013 season

Red Bull technical head Adrian Newey says that there is no guarantee of achievement for Red Bull Racing in 2013 F1 season.

Red Bull Racing won its third successive constructors’ and drivers’ championships this season, and they are also dominated second half of the season.

The second half of the season, most reports says that they are introduced double DRS concept, and it’s helped their consistent performance.

And also, early on this month Red Bull technical chief Adrian Newey admits that Red Bull RB8 was using F1 regulations limit in this season.

“We have [finished the season strongly], but that’s no guarantee of anything,” Newey said.

“We know what we hope to achieve over the winter but we have no idea what everybody else will achieve. We’ll turn up in Melbourne and see, and that’s the great thing about Formula One, you never know.”

Championship winning team Red Bull Racing’s team Principal Christian Horner said they are learned a lot from the 2012 season and it would apply those lessons to the 2013 machine.

“I think we’ve got such a strong group [of people], but you can always learn,” Horner said.

“We learned a lot of lessons this year and we’ve got to apply them. I think that one of the strengths of this team is that we are never satisfied and we will always look inwards, whether that’s engineers, technicians or people in production; all the different departments are looking at where we can improve and what we can learn. I think it’s that spirit and desire that’s kept us at the top for three years.”
