Sebastian Vettel becomes youngest Formula 1 triple world champion



Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel Crowned 2012 Formula 1 World Champion, Vettel get the third title by just three points. Button took the victory, championship contender Fernando Alonso finished second on the podium, the local hero Felipe Massa set final place in the podium for the incident pack Brazilian GP.

He started 2012 F1 world championship with a second place finish at the opening race of the season in Australia. In the second round in Malaysia, the Sebastian Vettel finished outside the points following making contact with HRT’s Narain Karthikeyan and developing a puncture.

In the third round, Vettel qualified eleventh for the Chinese Grand Prix; the first time he had qualified outside the top ten since the 2009 Brazilian Grand Prix, although he ran as high as 2nd with 7 laps remaining until tyre wear on a 2-stop strategy took its toll and he dropped to 5th by the flag.

The fourth round in the Bahrain Grand Prix Champion qualified in pole position for the first time in 2012 and he finished first place to take his first victory of the season. The Bahrain result also makes out Vettel go top of the driver’s standings for the first time in 2012 F1 season.

In the Spanish Grand Prix, the German finished 6th place started from 7th. Also he received a drive-through penalty for failing to slow for yellow flags during the race as well as having to change his front wing as a result of debris from an incident involving Michael Schumacher and Bruno Senna.

The round sixth at Monaco Grand Prix, he finished fourth, gaining 5 places from his ninth-place grid position. His team-mate Mark Webber made his second consecutive victory at Monaco GP and it was his first top podium of the 2012 season.

In Canadian Grand Prix Vettel took his 2nd pole position for the season; unfortunately he dropped to 3rd after tyre degradation, Hamilton become seventh different winner of the season at Montreal.

In the round eight at Valencia Sebastian Vettel he claimed his 33rd pole position, but he force out from the race due to an alternator failure. At the Silverstone he qualified fourth in the grid, the race was suspended for over 1 hour due to heavy rain, drop his one place following the slow start, but finally set third place on the podium.

Round 10 in his home ground at Germany, he set second on the race grid, after the second pit-stop McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton attacked him. Second to last lap he passed Jenson Button and finished second behind the Fernando Alonso. The post-race stewards found that Vettel was off the track when he overtook Button and so they awarded him a 20 second time penalty which dropped him back to fifth.

The Hungarian Grand Prix Vettel started third on the grid and finally finished fourth behind the Lotus’s Romain Grosjean. After the summer break in the Belgian GP, the German started from 10th on the grid finally finished second behind the Jenson Button.

In round 13th at Italian Grand Prix Vettel started from the fifth on the grid, during the first stint of race, he attacked Alonso and the Spaniard force onto the grass, following the incident stewards gives a drive-through penalty and dropped on ninth place, following few laps again alternator issue appeared on his car failed and force out from the race for the second time of the season.

From the Singapore Grand Prix Red Bull comeback to the real form, the German started from the third behind the Pastor Maldonado, in the opening he overtook Venezuelan and also Pole setter Lewis Hamilton’s retirement give him top place on the podium.

Round 15 at Japan, Vettel start the race from the Pole and took top podium without any hard pressure. In the Korean Grand Prix, the German qualified second behind his team-mate Mark Webber and in race he overtook his team mate Mark Webber done again top podium.

Round 17th, in Indian Grand Prix, the Champion dominated whole session of the weekend. Vettel started from the Pole and easily took the victory. It was added his career four race victory in a raw.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix offered, Vettel’s most dreadful qualifying sessions of the season and his career, After the Pole position, he can’t return to Pit with own power. A fuel pump problem was later found to in his Red Bull. Post-qualifying stewards awarded him to start from the last, but Red Bull opt start from Pit-lane and finally he finished third place behind the Fernando Alonso.

Round 19th, in the inaugural race at United Stated Grand Prix, the German claimed primary US GP Pole position. In the race McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton attacked him at the second half of the session, finally he satisfied with second place.
