Maldonado handed 10-place grid penalty for Brazilian GP

Pastor Maldonado receive 10-place grid penalty for Brazilian Grand Prix. He was failing to attend a requested FIA weighbridge checking through the qualifying at Interlagos.

The Venezuelan qualified sixth on the grid ahead of Fernando Alonso, the penalty will drop him to 16th on the Brazilian starting grid.

‘Any driver who receives three reprimands in the same Championship season will, upon the imposition of the third, be given a ten grid place penalty at that Event,’ FIA Sporting Regulations states.

Venezuelan’s go down comes as he receives his third warning of the season. In the past two reprimands were handed out for holding up Caterham’s Heikki Kovalainen during Q1 in China and for his collide with Sauber’s Sergio Pérez at British Grand Prix.
