Day 1 – McLaren’s Magnussen fastest on morning session for Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi

McLaren’s Kevin Magnussen set top fastest lap-time in the morning session of opening day for young driver test in Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina circuit. Magnussen set best lap-time with 1:42.651 and he completed 40 successive laps.

Red Bull’s Antonio Felix da Costa posted second quickest lap time ahead of Lotus’s Nicolas Prost. The Red Bull speedy set best time 1:42.717 with 33 laps.

Nicolas Prost set third fastest for Lotus with a 1:45.318 ahead of Sauber’s Robin Frijns, they are testing a new rear wing mechanism and he posted best time with 1:45.878.

Toro Rosso’s Luiz Razia was fifth with 1:46.793. Caterham’s Giedo van der Garde set sixth quickest, but he was done best lap nearly +1.5 seconds behind the Toro Rosso’s machine.

Kevin Magnussen set the fastest time of the morning on the opening day of the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi.

Gary Paffett will drive McLaren MP4-27 in the evening session of testing.
