Alonso: We extracted the maximum from the car

Following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualifying session, both championship contenders Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso was dissatisfied. The German will start from the second row on the grid and Spaniard will start from fourth row on the grid.

Fernando Alonso says that they are not competitive in qualifying, but he still happy with the performance. He also added that pushing maximum from the car during the qualifying.

Alonso’s team-mate Felipe Massa will start from ninth on the grid. Through the qualifying the paddock reporters says that the Ferrari guys are struggling with DRS, comparatively their main rivals Red Bull and McLaren.

“I think we were not competitive today, but myself, personally, I’m happy with the performance in qualifying, we extracted the maximum from the car.” said Alonso.

“I did a 1m41.5s in Q2, a 1m41.5s on my first lap in Q3 and a 1m41.5s on my second lap in Q3. I think I could do the lap 100 times and do a 1m41.5s each time because that was the maximum today.

“Unfortunately there were six people faster than us, normally the pace improves on Sunday so I hope that will be the case,” he added.
