Lewis Hamilton says that McLaren is very close with defending champions, but he insists they got some serious pace.
Also Hamilton added that it was very lucky to enter in Q2 in Korean GP qualifying; He finished Q1 on the in 17th place, and was lucky that Bruno Senna did not improve on his final lap.
“Yeah, definitely,” was his response when asked if Red Bull had the better car. We’re very close but they’ve got some serious pace.
“For us, maybe I had half a tenth in it today; I really ragged the life out of the car so I got absolutely everything out of it. But they were a couple of tenths ahead and Sebastian and Mark are both saying they have a little bit more so you don’t know whether or not they do but say it’s two or three tenths that’s quite a lot of time.”
“Beating the Red Bulls will be about making a good getaway, making all the right strategy calls and not making any mistakes. There’ll be good opportunity for slipstreaming into the first few corners at the start too.
“I’ll be going all-out for the win.”
