McLaren still support Hamilton for 2012 title

McLaren Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh says that the team still provide full support Lewis Hamilton for 2012 F1 world title, even with last Friday the McLaren speedy confirmed that join Mercedes for next season.

Following the Hamilton’s confirmation McLaren announced that, the current Sauber speedy Sergio Perez will line-up with Jenson Button for upcoming season.

Hamilton will race in final six races with McLaren machine in this season, and the team Principal Martin Whitmarsh says that McLaren still able to win 2012 title with Lewis Hamilton.

Whitmarsh added that he is confidence that, 2008 world champion not to share secret information with the Silver Arrows.

“Yes I think very much so,” Martin Whitmarsh told Sky Sports, when asked if Hamilton would receive the team’s full support.

“We have a competitive car at the minute and we have six races left. We can win all of those six races and in my view we can win the Championship. So starting next week in Japan we will be focusing on that.

“Lewis is a great racing driver and massively competitive. He knows there are races to win and races he wants to win himself. So we will be working hard to do that.”

“I know Lewis well, I trust and respect him, and he trusts and respects the team, that is not something that goes through my mind at all.”
