Vettel fined €10,000 for practicing start in pit-lane

Disappointed double world champion get another bad message from the FIA’s race stewards, that he has received a €10,000 fine for race practice starting from the pit-lane.

Today Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel set 11th place in the qualifying, after the event he says RB8 not achieved enough pace, and also following he took €10,000 fine.

Youngest double world champion was call for to the stewards who found he had breached Article 30.13 of the F1 Sporting Regulations.

“At no time may a car be driven unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner which could be deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers or any other person. This will apply whether any such car is being driven on the track, the pit entry or the pitlane,” reads the regulation.

“In mitigation of the penalty is the fact that the team and driver immediately realised their error and reported it to the race director,” reported the FIA statement.

“The team [Red Bull Racing] also reported that the ‘lollypop man’ was performing this role for the first time.”
