Vettel says tyre management will be crucial in Hungarian GP

Sebastian Vettel and his team-mate Mark Webber not pleased with Red Bull’s performance at Hungarian GP qualifying, Vettel took third place on the grid but he not expecting better results in Hungary. Weather forecasters showing heavy rain in tomorrow race at Hungary.

Vettel’s fastest time was .463 seconds behind the pole sitter Lewis Hamilton and also he admits difficult overtaking chances in the Hungarian GP. Vettel hints tyre management will be crucial in tomorrow race.

Vettel slightly escape from Q1 knockout, and also his team-mate Mark Webber too struggled in Qualifying, tomorrow he will start from 11th on the grid.

“It was difficult session for us. We didn’t get into qualifying how we would like and the rhythm wasn’t there straight away,” he said.

“We burned more tyres than we thought in the beginning, so we only had one new set for Q3.

“The run we had was okay, but I didn’t get the same feeling that I got at the end of Q2, which was a surprise, so we didn’t seem to go with the track and make another step.”

“Romain was in reach, but Lewis was another step. We know it’s difficult to overtake here, but hopefully we will have a good start. Tyre management will be crucial.”
