Sebastian Vettel handed 20 seconds time penalty for German Grand Prix, the consequences is Vettel drops from second to fifth place in his home race Germany.
Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel moved his competitor McLaren’s Jenson Button with below two laps for chequered flag, the German by running off track at the exit of the hairpin.
“Car 1 left the track and gained an advantage when he rejoined. Breach of article 20.2 of the FIA Formula 1 sporting regulations,” said the stewards.
“Drive-through penalty, imposed after the race in accordance with article 16.3 (20 seconds added to the elapsed race time.”
Vettel’s penalty gives the offer to Jenson Button, Kimi Raikkonen, and Kamui Kobayashi, they are one place gain from initial place.
