Sauber drivers say could have achieved even more today



Sauber duo Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez today finishes fifth and sixth respectively. After the Vettel’s penalty Kobayashi gain one more place and set fourth place in German Grand Prix.

Recently the duo says they could have achieved even more today if improved the qualifying yesterday. Sauber looking good in dry and also they are more pace in strait line with DRS.

Kobayashi and Perez was start from 12th and 17th places on the grid. Many times they are passes rivals and race done with clearly carry out two-stop strategy.

Kobayashi happy with his best results in Germany and he also added that last two race they struggling in wet terrible qualifying, Britain and Germany.

“I am very happy for the team that we have managed to get a good result again. We have been unlucky in the two most recent races, and also had a bad qualifying yesterday,” said Kobayashi.

“The performance of our car, especially in the dry, is really strong. If we only had qualified better we could have achieved even more today.

“At the beginning of the race it was a bit difficult on the medium tyres, but our strategy was good. Considering where we came from, 18 points is an excellent result.”

The Mexican said he had been disadvantaged by a feasible puncture so could potentially have gained more place.

“My strategy was a little bit compromised because I had to do my first pitstop a bit earlier than planned,” Perez said.

“I felt something strange on the left hand side of the car – perhaps it was a puncture – but I don’t really know yet what it was. This obviously meant we had to extend the later stint and I ended up with quite old tyres.”

Sauber team owner Peter Sauber explains duo performance as “outstanding”. The result pulled Sauber clear of pursuers Williams and Force India in the battle for sixth in the constructors’ standings.
