Alonso quickest in final practice for British GP



Daylight touched in Silverstone final practice session, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso posted quickest lap-time in final practice session for British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

McLaren’s Jenson Button set second fastest-lap at end of the session. His team-mate and local guy Lewis Hamilton early posted fastest lap-time with hard compound, but finally he done sixth fastest behind the Lotus F1’s Kimi Raikkonen.

Consistently Grosjean’s lotus produced perfect pace and he was beating the McLarens by three tenths on hard tyres. Grosjean finally done third fastest ahead defending world champion Sebastian Vettel.

The Spanish GP winner Pastor Maldonado was set seventh for Williams, Sauber’s Sergio Perez set eighth fastest despite break his Sauber’s front wing as he bounced over the grass.

Second Sauber guy Kamui Kobayashi also had a spin before taking ninth, in front of Nico Hulkenberg’s Force India.

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg had been the first pacesetter of the session, but had to sit out the latter part of the session with a mechanical problem, so fell to 18th.

Marussia speedy Charles Pic caused a brief red flag when his car ground to a halt on the exit of Copse just after the 20-minute mark.
