McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh says that team sporting director Sam Michael is not responsible for errors in the pit-stop. Sam has the potential to be a good team boss.
The Australian joined following leaving Williams to McLaren as sporting director. That through the pit stops, McLaren frequently do mistakes, came to him much criticism.
“The last two races we recorded the fastest pit stop,” Whitmarsh told Autosport about his new colleague is in right way.
“There is nobody talking about, everyone focuses on what goes wrong. This is logical, but it alarmed us.”
“Sam is not a happy start, but he’ll get there again on top,” Whitmarsh added.
“He is strong and pronounced. That appealed to me in him. He was the man we needed. “
“He certainly has the ambition to take over my role, that’s a healthy situation. There was nobody in my company who aspired to function. Sam has the potential to be a good team boss. “
