Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel set top fastest lap time in second practice for European Grand Prix. Vettel running an upgraded rear-end package on the RB8 that characteristic reshaped side-pods and new rear wing endplates, made the most of the new additions to go quickest.
Five different team’s drivers set top five pace spot, Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg done second top fastest lap-time just .131sec behind the Vettel.
Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi set third fastest lap-time ahead of Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher; the German was straight on the radio complaining of ‘drive’ issues. It was not a big problem though.
Williams speedy Bruno Senna posted fifth quickest time and Force India second man Paul di Resta done sixth fastest lap-time.
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso set seventh fastest with soft compound ahead of Lotus’s Romain Grosjean. Vettel’s team mate Mark Webber posted ninth fastest lap-time.
Mercedes second guy Nico Rosberg done tenth fastest lap-time, and the other consequences was McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, Lotus’s Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa all loitered outside the top 10 and the top 15 runners were covered by 0.910s.
