Hamilton confident McLaren will be rectified in qualifying

Today McLaren did wrong set-up in MP4-27 and the duo can’t set top ten in the Friday second practice time sheet. Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton posted 12th and 14th fastest lap-time.

Lewis Hamilton admits that today McLaren running was without good performance following MP4-27 balance all incorrect.

Canadian Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton struggled in both session, and he still expecting McLaren will rectified current problems and performed well in qualifying.

“I haven’t been happy with the car today, but you can’t always get it right,” Hamilton told Sky Sports News.

“I think this year we’ve been pretty good with getting the balance right throughout practice on Friday and having nice, smooth days, but today hasn’t been one of those days.”

Hamilton, though, is confident McLaren can turn their fortunes around ahead of Saturday’s all-important qualifying session at the street circuit.

“I think we know what the problem and I’ve just made all the changes to the car so I’m quite confident that overnight the problems will be rectified and tomorrow will be better.”

McLaren team Principal Martin Whitmarsh says today was a challenging and unexpectedly gusty winds presented more problems, and made development more difficult. But Whitmarsh added they are a bit happier if McLaren ended the day a little closer to the front.

“Today was a challenging day, at the end of whose second free practice session the top 15 cars were covered by less than a second.

“That statistic clearly underlines just how close the cars are this season – but, even so, we’d be a bit happier if we’d ended the day a little closer to the front.

“The unexpectedly gusty winds presented further problems, and made development more difficult, especially as tomorrow and on Sunday it’s likely that the weather will revert to the hot conditions we saw here yesterday.

“So, now, we’ve got a lot of data to process, and this evening we’ll be crunching that data with a view to optimizing our cars’ performance and balance on this tricky street circuit for qualifying and the race.”
