Hamilton: McLaren was planned two-stop strategy

Lewis Hamilton retakes the title lead with Canadian Grand Prix top podium. Hamilton now becomes seventh winner after first seven races in the season. Race winner says that, when he crossed the finish line, it was just like an explosion.

Hamilton led Vettel after his first pit-stop and he hold this position at the end his second pit. After the second stop Hamilton dropped down to third position, that time Alonso and Vettel change the plan and made single-stop strategy. But that decision cost both Ferrari and Red Bull.

“We went into it knowing we’d do two stops and I had a feeling that Fernando would do one,” Hamilton said after the race. “

“So I know I had to create a gap but also look after my tyres – that was one of the best stints I have ever had. What a feeling! This is where I won my first Grand Prix…I knew this would be tough, but I loved every since minute of it.”

“When I crossed the finish line, it was just like an explosion.”
