Team needs the clarification of the Red Bull Racing’s floor ‘hole’, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes has expressed they are troubles that a hole in Red Bull RB8 floor. The Rival teams want the clarification about the hole before the next round in Canada.
Before the Sunday Monaco race the report that McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes might complaint Red Bull’s hole is illegal. RB8 floor hole is located just before the rear tyres.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner reacted the latest report about RB8 – Team is confident that it met the FIA’s requirements, and was cleared by technical delegate Charlie Whiting.
“Christian Horner is confident his team’s car is legal.”
“I would be disappointed if there were to be a protest, it would not be particularly sporting,” he said on Sunday.
“We are totally happy that our car fully complies with the regulations. We have obviously consulted with the FIA over it – we have had their opinion in writing confirming the interpretation, so it would be disappointing if there was a protest. But we are entirely happy that the car completely complies.”
Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali and McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh said that they wanted clarification on the problem before the next race.
Stefano Domenicali agreed: “We need a clarification on this point. That is all I can say tonight.”
Meanwhile McLaren’s Martin Whitmarsh says that – “Yes. I think it will be sorted out shortly, It is not for me to comment on someone else’s car, it is for the FIA to make that decision.”
