Alonso top fastest in rain interrupted first day of the in-season Mugello test

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso post top fastest lap-time rain interrupted day one of the in-season Mugello test. The Spaniard set best time in morning session.

Semi-dark sky appeared in morning session and wet circuit had slowly dried after wet continuously on track following lunchtime showers.

The Spaniard set best time with 1:22.444, led Mark Webber by 1.204 seconds, with Jean-Éric Vergne in third place.

Nico Rosberg respectively – were two of the few who did venture out. Paffett managed just four laps, while Schumacher completed five but did not set a time.

Schumacher’s stable-mate Nico Rosberg finished with the highest number of laps completed of any driver, a relatively paltry 49.
