Formula 1 Mugello test drivers line-up

2012 Formula 1 in-season testing scheduled on May 1-3 at Mugello and its provides a great chance to test upgrading on its cars ahead of the European region of the championship.

After the Bahrain GP, Hamilton admitted that he and team-mate Jenson Button could attend the test after all.

“It might change,” he said. “I need to get back in the car. We need to figure out why the tyres are going off. If there are other things to test or ways to figure out I will be the one to do it, not let someone else do it. We have a lot of work to do. “

“There is no quick fix. We really have to make some big improvements to the car because the qualifying pace is there but the race pace, at least today (Sunday), was miles off.”

But McLaren announced that test drivers Gary Paffett and Oliver Turvey will drive MP4-27 from May 1-3 in Italy with race duo Hamilton and Jenson Button sitting out.

Ferrari has confirmed that Fernando Alonso will be driving for two days of the upcoming test session at Mugello, beginning and ending the programme on Tuesday and Thursday. This leaves Felipe Massa with just a single day on Wednesday 2 May.

Force India has announced that reserve driver Jules Bianchi join with regular drivers Paul di Resta and Nico Hülkenberg for Mugello test.

Williams decided that reserve driver Valtteri Bottas will joins with Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado test on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Toro Rosso will test with regular drivers Jean-Éric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo, Vergne will drive for the whole of Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Ricciardo will drive in Wednesday afternoon and whole Thursday.

Sauber confirmed that Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Pérez will be behind the wheel of 2012 Sauber machine. But Pérez drives only Thursday, first two day the Japanese speedy will test 2012 Sauber.

Marussia confirmed to GPUpdate.net that 2012 rookie Charles Pic driving for the whole opening day on Tuesday and first half of Wednesday; Timo Glock will take over on Wednesday afternoon, then completing the programme on the following day.
