Adrian Sutil expecting he return to 2012 Formula 1 campaign soon, if the possibility arises. Now that his court case with Eric Lux (a partner in Genii Capital) is over, the former Force India driver is press on to be back in contention.
“The fire burns brightly, although it is of course hard to be watching on television,” Sutil told Eurosport.
“It becomes increasingly difficult with every race that goes by. I would like to get back to Formula 1 as soon as possible, of course, but for now I must wait. “
“I’d like to have a seat this year, so I’m hoping for some misfortune for another driver; if that doesn’t happen, I’ll need to wait the whole year…then I can only hope that I would sign a contract at the end of it.”
When quizzed over the rumors which have linked him with Ferrari in recent months, Sutil replied: “It was nice to hear, of course, but that message did not come from me. Having said that, the idea is of course great because Ferrari is my favourite team. There is no direct contact, but I think they know that I am ready and if Ferrari need or want me, then they will call me.”
“My plan is to wait and see whether there is a possibility this year,” he begins to conclude. “If no way opens up, then of course you have to give some serious thought to your future because to go without racing for two years would not be easy for me.”
“ I want to race, so perhaps then it would have to be in a different series; you just have to look around and see what is possible. DTM, IndyCars, NASCAR; there are so many things but, at the moment, Formula 1 is in my head and I want to go back. Only when it’s not possible will I start worrying about Plan B.”
